Joaquin is a Program Manager with the Academic Engagement team, working with the Brown in Washington Program and the Brown in Tulsa Kaiser Fellowship Program. He was previously the Program Coordinator for the Hope High Optimized (H2O) After School Program at Hope High School in Providence, which provides high school students with a plethora of after-school opportunities. Joaquin has spent time working with inner-city youth through Brown Summer High School and the Spirit Educational Program out of Blackstone Academy Charter School. In the University setting, he has also learned to build community and incorporate leadership dynamics with Residence Life by being a Resident Assistant and then as a Hall Director at Providence College. 

Joaquin was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He is familiar with lots of different places in Rhode Island. He is passionate about playing the guitar, video games, hiking, crafting, and traveling.
