A Brown graduate and Providence resident for over twenty years, Jori brings to the Swearer Center a wide range of experiences as an educator, project director, curator, and documentarian. She has collaborated extensively with local and national organizations including AS220, Community MusicWorks, The Harvard School of Public Health, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, New Urban Arts, The Point CDC, Providence Community Libraries, the RISD Museum, and others. In addition to her work at the Swearer Center, Jori is currently serving as the director of a national network of social justice string instrument community education programs (the MusicWorks Network), supported by the Mellon Foundation in collaboration with Community MusicWorks. From 2010-2017, Jori ran 186 Carpenter, a storefront and office space presenting arts programming and current events in the West End. She currently runs a similar space at 159 Sutton, and also plays bass drum in the What Cheer? Brigade, a 20+ member brass/punk band.
