He manages the Bonner Community Fellows Program, Arthur Liman Public Interest Fellowship and collaborates on other student initiatives in the Center. He hopes to draw upon his experiences as a student at Brown and his work in Providence to engage and support students.
Juan Carlos has experience working in Rhode Island’s public school system, specifically on issues of college access, persistence, and success. He served as a College Adviser with the College Advising Corps at Central High School where he provided students with on-site advising and guidance on the college application and financial aid process. He has also worked as a program and data consultant with College Visions, which advances equal access to college opportunities for students in historically under-served communities.
Outside of Swearer, Juan Carlos enjoys reading graphic novels, watching reality TV competitions and going on food adventures across Rhode Island.
