Sophia joined the Swearer Center in the fall of 2021 to support student engagement efforts. In her role as a Manager of Community Engaged Learning, Sophia oversees the Off-Campus Federal Work Study along with the Office of Financial Aid, and supports service groups along with the Student Activities Office. Sophia develops educational training and reflection materials along with providing 1-1 advising support to deepen students' understanding of local issues and inform their sustained commitment to ethical practice.

Before arriving at Brown, Sophia managed student-facing programs and student-led organizations at Colorado College’s community engagement office. She spent her time there advising students, developing curriculum and facilitating educational workshops, growing a 16-student intern team, and working to support campus engagement efforts through COVID-19. In addition to finding inspiration from the students she works with, Sophia cares about exploring the intersections of community building and health. During her six years in Colorado Springs, she spent her time teaching for a community youth dance program and a local senior center, working as a touch therapist and companionship volunteer for hospice, and pursuing project-based work around issues of ageism and gender-based violence.
