B.A. Anthropology 2019, Colorado College

Prior to arriving at Brown, Sophia managed student-facing programs and student-led organizations at Colorado College’s community engagement office. She spent the past two years advising students, developing curriculum and facilitating educational workshops, growing a 16-student intern team, and working to support campus engagement efforts through COVID-19. In addition to finding inspiration from the students she works with, Sophia cares about exploring the intersections of community building and health. During her six years in Colorado Springs, she spent her time teaching for a community youth dance program and a local senior center, working as a touch therapist and companionship volunteer for hospice, and pursuing project-based work around issues of agism and gender-based violence.

From her hometown of Los Angeles, CA, to Colorado Springs, CO, this will be Sophia’s first time living on the east coast. She is excited to learn more about the Brown and Providence community, and find ways to get connected!
