James Ro is a current sophomore at Brown University concentrating in Applied Mathematics and Economics. With a strong interest in Domestic and Foreign Policy, he has worked as a research assistant in Brown’s Economics Department on Professor Jesse Shapiro’s project that analyzed the effect of low-income families’ participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program on the content of their food consumption. In the past, he had served in Youth Leadership of Orange County, a non-profit organization dedicated in its service to low-income, underprivileged elementary students in teaching them math and music in his hometown of Fullerton, CA. In his free time, James is usually found in the gym playing basketball or with his chamber music group, where he enjoys playing the clarinet.
