Spandana Jarmale is a rising senior at Brown University studying Neuroscience. She is a pre-medical student accepted into Brown’s Program in Liberal Medical Education 8 year track. She is interested in Global Health and Health Policy. In particular, she is interested in reducing disparities in maternal mortality. She recently completed a semester studying in Geneva conducting a research study into “Maternal and Infant Health in Refugee Populations During Humanitarian Crisis.” In addition, she is interested in health economics and the current restructuring attempt of the health care system to achieve more favorable health outcomes. Spandana speaks Kannada, Hindi, and French. In her free time, she loves dancing, traveling, and cooking.
