Christina Chu is a senior at Brown University concentrating in Health and Human Biology with a focus on health systems, structure, and policy. As a daughter of Vietnamese war refugees, she is interested in working with organizations examining policies that address health disparities for disadvantaged communities. She volunteers as a Health Leads Advocate to empower low-income patients by connecting them with community-based resources ranging from utilities and transportation. This past summer, she examined guidelines about interventions to prevent healthcare-associated infections to determine national policy recommendations with the CDC Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. She looks forward to advancing health equity through health policy reform. Christina enjoys listening to This American Life podcasts and reading historical nonfiction books.
