James Schapiro is a junior at Brown University concentrating in political science, with a focus on American politics. He has taken classes on the Supreme Court and the Constitution, the Presidency, and polarization in the House and the Senate, in an attempt to explore the mechanisms which make the entire government function. James is a member of Brown Democrats, volunteered for Brown Students for Hillary, and sits on the Brown Progressive Action Committee’s Voting Rights committee. He is also a staff writer and columnist for the Brown Daily Herald. James hopes to work to reduce polarization in government and increase productive, bipartisan lawmaking. James is a lifelong New Yorker, a voracious reader of novels, and a die-hard Mets fan.
