I will explore the work of the Jewish museums in L'viv, Warsaw, and Berlin and compare the ways they relate to their audiences as cultural spaces in countries with more Jewish history than Jewish people. I plan to compare the ways that each deploys stories of isolation versus connectivity, triumph and tragedy, and specificity versus long-arc history to communicate their messages as a form of community activism.
