Investigating Community Perceptions of Forest Value in Rural Brazil

Faculty Sponsor: Leah VanWey

Angelica will travel to a rural region in northeastern Brazil to investigate community perceptions of forests’ value. Working with identified community partners, she will recruit research participants and document the study. Throughout her investigation, she will combine a number of qualitative methods — including video ethnography, video voice and focus groups — in an effort to inform forest conservation and restoration efforts in the local area.
