Armando will examine the relationship between censorship and cinematic production in the Philippines. He plans to compare moral censorship under Corazon Aquino's democracy with political censorship under the dictatorial Marcos regime for his honors thesis.

Armando completed his M.A. in Comparative Literature from University of California at Berkeley in 2002. He opened his own business creating multimedia content, production and editing. In 2008 he became the Associate Producer at Oregon Public Broadcasting and later the Assistant Director for Foundation and Government Grants. Armando lives in Portland Oregon and is currently the Managing Director at Upswell, a design and management firm.
