Grounding Classical Literature in Modern Sustainable Agriculture

Ben related Virgil’s Georgics and Columnella’s de Re Rustica to contemporary agricultural practices, using both academic and experiential research to render the Classics more accessible and demonstrate their resonance in the modern world. After completely his research, he produced a set of English translations as well as a narrative essay.
Ben is chief of communications at CPR, and editor of the Cities of Delhi project. Trained in literature, he has worked as an editor and producer in journalism and publishing, and was most recently manager of communications at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University.
