Brendan conducted his research in Wakatobi Marine National Park in Indonesia. He worked in a small, relatively isolated island community that depended heavily on the local fishery in strong decline. Brendan's goal was to assess the local population’s willingness to introduce regulation to protect this resource, as well as consider how one might create a sense of ownership of a traditionally open-access resource in a very communal culture.
