The Social Half of a Vaccine: Assessing Attitudes Towards AIDS in the Marketplaces of Mali

Caitlin conducted a qualitative study examining the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding HIV and vaccines in Bamako, Mali. Her research sought to provide information that facilitates the design of ethical human trials for a future HIV vaccine.

While at Brown Caitlin founded the Mali Health Project (www.malihealth.org), which implements innovations for child survival. She is currently finishing an M.B.A. at Harvard and M.D. at Brown. She has also been involved with a startup company creating malaria and hematology diagnostics (www.parasight.com).
