European Surrealist Women in Mexico: Building Lives and Artistic Identities in a Foreign Land

 Faculty Sponsor: James Green

Gabrielle conducted research in Mexico City, studying the community of European expatriates who lived there during the 1940s, especially female Surrealist artists. Through her research, Gabrielle hoped to build a broad understanding of that intellectual community, and how it influenced and was influenced by contemporary political policy towards cultural production.

Gabrielle is currently the Director of Admissions at Diabetes Charities of America. Previously, she was the Career Resource Specialist & Job Developer at Work Opportunities Unlimited.
