Jasmine conducted an independent writing project that explored the cathartic potential of creative writing for both doctors and patients enduring grief.

Jasmine is a minister in the United Church of Christ and the Executive Director of the Campaign for Southern Equality, a nonprofit that promotes LGBT rights in the South. Jasmine is a writer and her first book, Damn Love, was published in May 2013. She has a Master of Fine Arts from Warren Wilson College and a Master of Divinity from Harvard University. In 2010 she was a Literature Fellow with the National Endowment for the Arts.
