Writing Incarceration: American Prison Literature and Writing in the Prison Experience

Jed reviewed the evolution of American prison literature and the conditions under which it was and continues to be produced. He then examined select institutional programs that encourage inmates to express themselves through writing.

Jed lives in New York City and is an assistant editor at the New Press. He has worked for the Nation, Huffington Post and the Frances Goldin Literary Agency. Jed has a degree from the Columbia School of Journalism and was a Fellow at the Writers Workshop Press.
