Jocelyn will create a community action component for Brown University's ethnic studies major. She will develop partnerships with local non-profit and human service organizations to connect theoretical course work to the social and cultural realities of community development.

In 2005 Jocelyn was given an Emerging Leader Award by the National Association of Media Arts and Culture. in 2009 she won a Cave Canem Fellowship. She was formerly an editor at the Feminist Press, and is now a member of the South End Press collective.
