Investigating the Relationship Between Socioeconomic Status and DNA Methylation of the Glucocorticoid Receptor Promoter in Premature Infants

Faculty Sponsor: Barry Lester

Jordan analyzed existing data from the Brown Center for the Study of Children at Risk to research the relationship between socioeconomic status and altered stress reactivity in premature infants. Stress activity was represented by cheek swab data containing information on the expression of the glucocorticoid receptor, a protein responsible for binding cortisol, a stress hormone.
