Kartik Venkatesh received a Royce Fellowship as a first year student. Kartik explored the practice of Sanskrit ritualism and associated Hindu social practices in both Indian and American cultural settings. His journey to South India as a Royce Fellow made him aware of the connection between socio-cultural practices and the spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
