Khalil is the founder of NBA Math Hoops, a nonprofit organization committed to improving math literacy among urban youth by creating innovative educational tools that harness the power of basketball. For his Royce research, Khalil explored the possibility of creating strategic partnerships with charter schools and organizations known for their work in underserved communities, as well as the potential of incorporating Math Hoops’ Classroom Kits. Additionally, Khalil developed a comprehensive strategy to measure the impact of the classroom material’s effects on participating youth.
