An Experimental Performance on the Histories of Gender in Queer Communities

Laura coordinated the work of a small ensemble that researched histories of gender construction and performance in 20th century queer women's communities. the ensemble created an experimental research-based performance piece that honored genderqueer history, and pushed the audience to expand their view of gender.

Laura Green is currently working as a documentary director and editor in the San Francisco Bay Area. She most recently edited True Son, a feature length documentary, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in April. She has directed five short documentaries, Lady Razorbacks, Neve & Sons, DISASTER (a personal geography), Installation and Everybody’s Business. They have played at numerous festivals, including Palm Springs Shortfest, Aspen Shortsfest, Sarasota Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Outfest and the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. She is currently a lecturer at Stanford University and the Art Institute of California – San Francisco.
