Deconstructing Colombia’s Foreign Position on Climate Change:

Faculty Sponsors: Leah Vanwey and Timmons Roberts

Colombia remains one of the few countries challenging conventional wisdom at the United Nations climate negotiations by supporting an ambitious agreement in which all countries present emissions reduction targets based on not just past, but also present and future responsibility. Camila investigated Colombia’s recent progressive narrative and trace the factors that have shaped the country’s foreign climate policy through a series of interviews and policy research.

Maria Camila is currently the Researcher at Dejusticia in Bogotá D.C. Area, Colombia. Previously, she was the Social Media and Lead Researcher at Nivela and Researcher at Climate and Development Lab
