The Hidden Left: Communist Activity in Pakistan During the 1950s Faculty Sponsor: Vazira Zamindar Meher's project studied the history of the political Left in Pakistan between 1947 and 1959, looking primarily at the activity of the Communist Party of Pakistan in an effort to determine the role of progressive politics in the nation's early history. She conducted research at the National Archives in London and the India Office Records in the British Library, using the public records of the British Foreign Office and Dominions Office to analyze relevant material from this time period. She intends to write an Honors Thesis in History on her findings.

Meher received a Fullbright Scholarship research grant to conduct an oral history project on the 1969 student movement in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
