Establishing a Molecular System to Monitor Receptor Activation in Drosophila

Faculty Sponsor: Gilad Barnea

Michael built a molecular system that traces neuron receptor activation during circadian rhythms in Drosophila (fruit flys). An understanding of neuron activation patterns will help elucidate the mechanisms used by the brain to generate rhythmicity and how these patterns of activation lead to specific behavioral outputs.

In 2015, Michael completed his M.D. at Yale University Medical School. Since 2010, he's been the Medical Education Fellow at The Angiogenesis Foundation.
