Dance for Parkinson’s Participant Health Narrative Installation

Faculty Sponsor: Rachel Balaban

Miranda Olson worked with the Dance for Parkinson’s an ongoing research project sponsored by the English National Ballet. Miranda gathered participants’ personal health journeys using audio interviews, video recording, surveys, class observation, and photography. The collected stories and information from both this study group and their medical providers were analyzed to identify narrative themes about adapting and navigating life with Parkinson’s disease. Miranda's work contributed to a better understanding of how medical, technological, and social change can positively impact those afflicted with Parkinson disease.

Miranda is currently a Core Team Member at Artists and Scientists as Partners (ASaP) in Providence, RI. She was previously the Curriculum Development and Pedagogy Lead at ASaP and Medical Anthropology Researcher at Hampshire College.
