A Neurocomputational Investigation of Behavioral Impulsivity

Faculty Sponsor: Richard Liu and Anthony Spirito

Impulsivity is a diagnostic symptom of many psychiatric illnesses and is a major risk factor for suicidal behavior in adolescents. Using pre-existing data Nimesha will analyze behavioral impulsivity patterns and model those results in a computational system that represents impulsivity-related brain mechanisms. She hopes to assess whether the model can predict suicidal behavior based on theoretical brain differences between teens with and without suicide attempts.
