Award Year

1998

Noah will explore the boundary between real and virtual space in a project called The Architecture of Perception. The project will demonstrate how interaction between these spaces changes the built environment. He hopes to construct a virtual sculpture in Providence's new Kennedy Plaza to foster a public memory of this space.

Noah received his Ph.D. from MIT and an M.A. in architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture. He is a strategic advisor on futures, foresight, and innovation. As an advisor to the office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Noah helped establish the country’s first national foresight unit. He also helps lead a small special projects team that identifies emerging opportunities, develops strategic partnerships, and prototypes futures initiatives. Noah is an expert in futures and foresight and is the co-owner of the world’s first crowd sourced foresight start-up, Futurescaper LLC. Prior to joining the UAE Prime Minister’s Office, Noah was a senior manager with GBN/ Monitor, former North American Director of Space Syntax Limited, co-founder of Sensitive Dynamics, and Senior Research Advisor to Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics, a fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture, an advisor to the Scenarios Lab at the USC Annenberg School of Communications, and a fellow at the International Futures Forum.
