Pavani will research the economic impact of information technology (IT) development in the city of Hyderabad, located in the rural state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Her research on this global IT hub will be the basis for her senior thesis in economics, in which she intends to propose policy for using IT to benefit low-income populations.

After leaving Brown Pavani was selected as a Fellow with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She received her J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2006 and accepted a position as a Management Associate with LexisNexis and later a Senior Director, Continuing Legal education Portfolio. She is currently a Senior Director, Advisory Board Company. The Advisory Board Company is a global research, technology and consulting firm that deals with health care and health care.
