Examining Decision-Making and Medical Adherence Counseling Through Analysis of Healthcare Providers' Counseling Skills

Faculty Sponsor: Ira Wilson

Sanchita examined how medical adherence counseling and decision-making occurs for adults living in Punjab, India. She aimed to interview healthcare providers about their experiences with patients, transcribe audio-recordings of patient-provider interactions, and use computer software to analyze her data through a mixed-methods approach. Through this experience, Sanchita hoped to gain insight into the patient-provider relationship and investigate methods to potentially improve communication and discussions of medical care within various cultural contexts.

Sanchita is currently a medical student at the Alpert Medical School.
