Uniting a Community in the Worst of Times: Bringing German Jewish Immigrants to Buenos Aires

Faculty Sponsor: James Green

Sophie researched two organizations founded in the 1930’s in Buenos Aires, Argentina by Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe with the mission of assisting German Jews seeking refuge. She studied the role these local, community-based groups played in shaping both Jewish history and Argentine international and immigration policy.

After graduating, Sophie worked at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University, where she researched and reported on human trafficking and modern-day slavery around the world. In 2016, she completed her J.D. at Harvard Law School. She is currently a Law Clerk at U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
