Tarry is creating The Interpreter's Aide Program, a service initiative which will place Brown student interpreters in the emergency and walk-in clinics of Rhode Island Hospital. The program aims to improve access to health care for those who speak English as a second language.

Tarry received her M.D. degree, through the accelerated medical program (PLME) at Brown University. She is a faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. Tarry also serves as the Director of the Global Health Program at Mount Sinai, she collaborates with physicians on an international level, and treats patients world wide. As a leader in Women's Health, she has been responsible for creating resident and medical student educational opportunities in Global Health.
