Wayne will estimate the total amount of carbon held in Alaska’s Tongass National Forest by synthesizing forest inventory data and stand-level carbon budgets. By estimating changes in this forest inventory, he will project carbon flux under several possible forest management scenarios.

Wayne left Brown and returned to Alaska where he worked as a wilderness guide, a researcher with the USDA, a research analyst, the Chief of Staff for State Senator Gretchen Guess. He received his M.A., M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis in Transportation Technology and Policy. He returned to Alaska and worked as a commercial regulatory analyst for Shell Oil and adjunct faculty member at the University of Alaska. Currently Wayne is a Business Planner for Shell Oil. He lives in Anchorage with his wife, Heidi.
