Whitney explored the experiences of a select group of athletes with disabilities in Hong Kong and Mainland China. For her Royce Sport and Society research she examined the obstacles athletes face, their experiences with discrimination and the support systems that sustain them through journalistic interviews with Olympians, coaches and administrators.

After graduation, Whitney worked at a law firm in Boston before pursuing a graduate degree in Political Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Although her master’s thesis, which focused on bargaining models for a nuclear North Korea, is certainly a conversation starter, Whitney's interest in human rights has motivated her to pursue a career firmly rooted in community engagement and legal reform. Whitney is currently the Development Coordinator at Pivot Legal Society in Vancouver. She is responsible for donor relations and volunteer management. Whit was recently accepted into the 2015 class at McGill University Law School.
