Monteverde, characterized by a cloud forest ecosystem, is being affected by an upward shift of cloud formation height due to climate change. Species found at the lower boundaries of the cloud forest face the greatest transformation in their surroundings. Yesenia will research how the bird species composition in this lower boundary area has changed in the past forty-five years by comparing the species composition at different times and combining that with data documenting the historical distributions of different species.
