Anna Fireman is a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania potentially concentrating in Public Policy. Upon arriving at Brown, Anna became involved with the Swearer Center through direct service programs BEAM (Brown Elementary Afterschool Mentoring) and PAL (Partnership for Adult Learning). Anna has spent three semesters tutoring the same “learner” through PAL, and after volunteering for two semesters, now serves as a Community Fellow for BEAM. Anna also represents the Brown student body as a Presidential Host for the Office of the President. Anna’s passion for community engagement has led her to take courses that allow her extracurricular learning to compliment her academics. She loves meeting new people, sharing stories, and using creativity to innovate and inspire. She hopes to learn more technical storytelling tools to promote social justice through many mediums.
