Hi! My name is Liza Edwards-Levin and I am a sophomore planning to double-major in Social Analysis and Research and English Nonfiction Writing: exploring overlaps between narrative, nonfiction and data-driven stories. I have been drawn to different forms of storytelling as long as I can remember; I am especially interested in audio narratives, long-form journalism and personal essays.

I spent last summer on campus facilitating workshops and activities for high-school students at the Brown Leadership Institute, storytelling spaces. During the year, I am an Arts and Culture editor and contributor for Post- Magazine and a producer for "Now Here This" (Brown's audio storytelling group). I also intern off-campus at The Steel Yard, a nonprofit arts organization. At the Yard, I help tell capture stories of community events, classes, residencies, and public projects.
Through the Swearer Center Storytellers Fellowship, I am so excited to learn more about socially responsible storytelling fueled by my peers' interdisciplinary work, faculty mentorship, and the Center's focus on community narratives.
