Isabel Guarnieri is a senior concentrating in International Relations, and grew up between Italy, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, and Kenya. She hopes to use this fellowship to tell community-engaged, multimedia stories that speak to the diverse experiences of Providence's under-represented communities. She is really interested in how activists and social movements counter dominant historical narratives through mobilizing countermemory, and plans to explore the intersections of memory and racial/ethnic identity in the Providence Public Art Initiative through her Storytellers project. When she's not working on her thesis, she serves as a Writing Fellow, an editor for the Brown Journal of World Affairs, and a student representative on the Watson Institute Diversity and Inclusion Action Committee.
