Yelena Salvador is a junior, double concentrating in Psychology and English Nonfiction. She is interested in the intersectionality of culture with mental health and education. She believes that storytelling is a means of living: a way for communities and values to be passed down and to survive. At Brown, she is involved with nonprofit organizations that seek to destigmatize mental illness. She also enjoys exploring different writing forms like journalism and poetry. With this fellowship, she is excited to learn about socially responsible collaborations with community members. She hopes to share the voices of individuals to raise awareness about injustice.
