Most people are aware that women and students of color are underrepresented in STEM departments at Brown. But most people aren’t talking about it. That’s what Abby Plummer ’15 is trying to change.

Note: At the end of the piece, Abby cites a statistic about the number of women and people from underrepresented minorities being awarded bachelor's degrees today. This statistic applies to the physics field specifically, not to higher education overall. The statistic Abby cites about "minorities dropping out at higher rates" is STEM-specific as well.
