The addition of the Granoff Center helped Brown make Architectural Digest's list of 10 College Campuses with the Best Architecture.

Movie Night!

Friends and neighbors turned out for a screening of Where the Wild Things Are at the Granoff Center's outdoor amphitheater on Wednesday evening.  This is just the first of what we hope are many screenigs into the fall.

First Semester

The Granoff Center's opening seemster was a great success!  We had 11 courses and GISPs, 5 exhibits in the Cohen Gallery, 2 artists-in-residence, and countless other events and installations. Brown's IE/MBA Program

In March, Visual Art Professors Richard Fishman and Ian Gonsher hosted a session of Brown's IE/MBA Program.  Watch what happens when these admittedly non-creative business types are let loose in the Granoff Center with reams of copy paper.

Pierre-Alexis Dumas Lecture at Brown

On Monday, March 7th, Pierre-Alexis Dumas '91, Chief Creative Officer of Hermès delivered a lecture entitled: A Journey on Silk from Art to Craft.  A standing room only crown listened to Dumas discuss the constant tension of design challenging craft that helps us to develop skill and knowledge.  The lecture, one in a series born in 2008, was born out of the desire to challenge tradition and bridge fine and contemporary art together with silk-printing craft.

Granoff Center wins AIA New York Architecture Merit Award!

At its March 1 symposium, the New York Chapter of the AIA announced its 2011 Design Awards. The Granoff Center won an Architecture Merit Award.  Diller Scofidio + Renfro also won an Honor Award for thier Hypar Pavillion Lawn and Restaurant at Lincoln Center.     

CAC now accepting proposals for Fall 2011 courses

The Creative Arts Council is now accepting proposals for courses to be taught in the Granoff Center during the Fall 2011 semester.  To request an application, email Chira.
