Copyright and Fair Use

The library provides guidance on questions about copyright and fair use related to teaching and learning.

Data Management

Help with writing data management plans for grant proposals and support for the retention and dissemination of data and research output.

Digital Research Methods

Incorporate digital methods into your teaching. Contact the Center for Digital Scholarship to discuss using GIS/text analysis/visualization in your course and available teaching spaces.

General IT questions and support

GIS and Storymap

Software suite and workshops for visualizing spatial data. Training and support available through the Library or attend the S4 GIS Institute.

Language Resource Center

Provides technological support for language teaching and learning and online access to relevant audio materials and other digital resources.

Librarians

Classes, workshops, and individual consultations on digital and other information resources to support student research. Includes literature searching, citation, research management, and digital scholarship. 

Multimedia Assignment Support

Provides training, technology, and pedagogical consulting to integrate multimedia assignments into courses.

Online Training

Lynda.com provides access to thousands of self-paced courses on technology, software, and business topics for Brown faculty, students, and staff.

Research and Data questions

A wide array of data sets are available from the Library. Subject librarians are available to answer research questions from students and faculty. The Center for Digital Scholarship handles scholarly research support for faculty for academic digital projects.

Brown students collaborate with Brown faculty on research and teaching projects during the summer or the academic year.
