The faculty and programmatic resources in the area of early cultures at Brown University are remarkably rich. Faculty are housed in a wide range of departments, including not only humanities disciplines but also social sciences and even physical sciences and engineering. These affiliated departments and programs regularly organize relevant events, lectures, and conferences; sponsor student and faculty research; offer courses on topics that explore comparative aspects of pre-modern studies; convene reading groups; and broadly engage with issues and topics that drive the study of early cultures on campus, and beyond.
