About

This site is the product of a collaborate effort involving many members of the community of faculty and students at Brown whose work focuses on East Asia.  It exists in part to provide a common "virtual" space to share aspects of that work with each other, and with audiences outside of the University.  As with any academic community that crosses disciplinary and departmental boundaries to the extent that ours does,  and for which no institutional center exists,  there is always work to be done to identify the resources,  interests and causes we have in common.  The site exists to foster conversations around those topics as well.

Some units in the site - the Historian's Toolkit most notably - were originally developed by Rebecca Nedostup at Boston College.
