Religion & Thought

Religion, philosophy, the history of thought, and related fields (such as print culture and history of the book) have undergone particularly sharp transformations in the past ten or twenty years. The digitization of texts and images has played a large part. Not only are various editions of the canons of East Asian religions now more readily available, but so are runs of religious periodicals, liturgies, librettos, images, personal devotional texts, audio and video, and a wealth of other documents that give us a much wider picture of practice and thought in East Asia than ever before. Fortunately, many of these sources are open access or otherwise freely available.
