The award  is given each year to one HGSE alumna/alumnus "who demonstrates commitment to equity in issues of race, class, and education" by nomination and vote of the HGSE community. V noted that her receipt of the award was a "beautiful experience" that was made even more memorable by the attendance of several present and past members of her "beloved" history/social studies MAT cohort.

The Brown Education community extends its congratulations to V on this well-deserved recognition.
