Brown University School of Engineering

Nelson Chair of Engineering and Entrepreneurship

The School of Engineering at Brown University invites applications for a Nelson Chair of Engineering and Entrepreneurship with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2020. The establishment and growth of the Jonathan M. Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship has created a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem at Brown. To maintain this growth trajectory, we seek to hire a senior faculty member with a stellar track record of research and/or technical accomplishments, and with a history of contributing to entrepreneurial and technical leadership. The Nelson Chair holder will: a. Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program; b. Support rigorous instruction in the School of Engineering and, in particular, in the PRIME program; and c. Have vigorous interactions with the Nelson Center. Applicants should hold a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Science, or related disciplines. We are particularly interested in scholars who demonstrate commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.

All application materials should be submitted online through Interfolio, and include a complete CV and a statement of proposed research and teaching interests. Contact information for five referees should be provided (the search committee may contact those references directly). Review of applications will begin on January 1, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
