Bradin Cormack, Professor of English at Princeton University, will present a lecture on Shakespeare titled “In the Time of Example: Being Unruly in Shakespeare" on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 6:00 pm in the Department of English, 70 Brown Street, Room 315. Cormack will consider the basic questions, central to any theory of exemplarity, of how cases or examples make knowledge and what, in turn, it is to follow an example into action. “The Merchant of Venice” and “Macbeth” will be among his primary texts.
