Brent Edwards, Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, will present a lecture titled, “The Origins of Jazz and the Ends of Jazz Writing” on Wednesday, February 22 at 5:30 in Brown/RISD Hillel, 80 Brown St., 2nd floor. He is author of “The Practice of Diaspora: Literature, Translation, and the Rise of Black Internationalism” (2003) as well as the forthcoming book “Epistrophies: Jazz and the Literary Imagination” (2017).
