B.A. English, Ashoka University, 2018.

My research focuses on how Shakespeare's work travels to the Indian subcontinent, particularly in literature written in the Telugu language. My most recent work is on a Telugu novel in which Hamlet makes a spectral appearance. I am interested in exploring theoretical debates surrounding colonial narratives and the mechanism of adaptation to further understand the relation between Shakespeare and his presence in the colonies as a political encounter. I also focus on how literary theory (both Indian and Western) is able to refine our understanding of this encounter.
